Laelia jongheana is native to a rather isolated area in the central part of Minas Gerais in Brazil. It is in the group of Hadrolaelias [L. alaorii, L, jongheana and L. sincorana] and has the largest flowers of the group. We grow these with our rupiculous laelias. The plants occur on trees growing in locations that are somewhat wet even in the dry season. We know it can grow in a wide range of temperatures though have read that it favors cool temperatures. We do NOT grow in cool temperatures and it does very well!jongheana
