Laelia jongheana is native to a very restriced isolated area in the state of Minas Gerias Brazil. It is a Class 1 Cites plant so is virtually impossible to import/export. The flowers are quite large and largest in the Hadrolaelias group (L. alaorii, jongheana, sincorana) The flowers are long lived and are disproportionately lare for the somewhat semi miniature plant. It can grow in a wide range of temperatures though the cooler you can grow it the better. It likes to be somewhat wet even in dry season. Remains one of the rarest of orchid species.
