Dendrobium findlayanum (commonly known as Findlay's Dendrobium) is a striking, epiphytic orchid species native to the mountainous regions of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, and southern China. It is highly prized by orchid collectors for its unique, knobby "string-of-beads" pseudobulbs and large, fragrant spring blooms.

The "Bead" Canes: The most distinctive feature of this plant is its stems. The segments start thin but gain heft toward the nodes as they mature, creating a unique swollen, compressed, knobby appearance. The canes grow between 20 to 22 inches (50 cm) long and tend to be pendulous or cascading.
The Blooms: In late winter to spring, the plant produces 3-inch (7.5 cm) fragrant flowers from the upper nodes of mature, leafless canes. The petals range from soft white to lavender-pink, beautifully contrasted by a large golden-yellow to orange throat. The Foliage: The bright green leaves are deciduous, typically turning yellow and dropping off during the late fall or winter dormancy period right before the plant prepares to bloom
