Bulbophyllum pardalotum, commonly known as the Leopard-Spotted Bulbophyllum, is a miniature, epiphytic orchid endemic to the Philippines. It is highly prized by collectors for its compact size, rambling growth habit, and distinct flowers that open every morning and close at night.

Key Characteristics

The Bloom: It features ~1.6-inch vibrant orange or yellow flowers striped/spotted with red on the interior. Each bloom lasts about 10 days and is "diurnal," meaning it opens daily with the morning light and closes by evening.
Growth Habit: This species produces small, angled pseudobulbs spaced along a creeping rhizome, each carrying a single leathery leaf. Because of its rambling nature, it is an ideal candidate for mounting.
Flowering Season: It is a free-flowering orchid that can bloom at almost any time throughout the year.
